Purpose
- The KCCB-Commission for Clergy and Religious- Liaison Committee’s purpose is to foster collaboration among Bishops, Religious Women and Men, and Clergy in Kenya. Clergy and religious form the bulk of evangelizing agents in the church in Kenya. The commission for the Clergy and Religious – Liaison committee also give guidance on what is necessary to foster mutual collaboration and articulate the relationships that exist between the liaison committee, the local ordinary, the conference and the member bodies. The Commission has a National Liaison Committee composed of representatives from these groups: two Bishops. representatives of Religious Women (AOSK), representatives of Religious Men (RSCK), one representative of the diocesan priests, the KCCB-General Secretary, and the Commission’s National Executive Secretary.

GOALS
- To strengthen and promote functional, healthy mutual relationships among the clergy and religious in order to give true witness to the love of Jesus Christ.
- To develop and implement comprehensive formation programs to equip clergy and religious men and women as effective evangelizing agents.
- Enhance Collaboration and communication among all stake holders within the church in Kenya for cohesive pastoral and evangelization efforts.
- Advocate for welfare, rights and spiritual growth of clergy and religious persons in alignment with church teachings and mission.
- Foster nation level partnerships and networks to support the commission’s mandate and realize the church’s evangelizing mission effectively.
THE ROLE OF THE COMMISSION
- Acts as a link between the liaison committee and the conference
- Advises on the best practices for clergy and religious in the country.
- Carries out capacity building workshops on various topics for the liaison committees.
- Promotion of ethical conduct and mutual relationships between clergy and religious
- Develops and implements mechanisms and platforms for mutual collaboration.
- Structural strengthening of diocesan liaison committees.
- Research and guidelines formulation.
- Resource mobilization for liaison activities nationally
